Chicago Front Row Ticket Winner Review

On September 11, 2006, I attended the Adventures of Mimi concert at the United Center in Chicago, as the winner of the front row contest from MC.com. Thank you so much to everyone at the fanclub for making this not only one of the most incredible nights of my life, but also one of the best birthdays I've ever had. I remember the first Mariah concert I ever went to, in March of 2000. I had waited 10 years to hear Mariah's angelic voice in person, and I got to do so from section 232- a.k.a. "Mariah is an ant" section. To be able to finally get to see her from the first ten rows was a gift that I never imagined possible!
Mariah's vocals were flawless! The whistle notes gave me goosebumps, especially seeing Mariah sing "carry me Jesus" at the end of "Fly Like A Bird" from only a few feet away! D.J. Clue had the crowd on its feet with his classic jams, and Da Brat not only performed during two songs (the Honey So So Def remix being one of my all time favs!) but also hung out just in front of the railing on the floor section to dance and listen to Mimi. Trey's solo performances were awesome, and he walked over to sing in front of me after noticing that I knew every word of every song that Mariah performed. (I am sure Mariah chuckled to herself as I rapped along with Mase on the Honey Bad Boy remix). I brought a sign with the words "Best birthday ever" and Mariah called out "Happy birthday!" while singing "Dreamlover".
Mariah made a touching tribute to the victims of the 9-11 terrorist attacks, reminding us how truly blessed we all are to be living the lives that we lead. She and Trey performed what I think may have been the longest performance of "One Sweet Day" of this tour, and sounded amazing. The energy of the crowd was infectious, and I had a perfect, fun night. Thank you, Mariah, for putting on a wonderful show.
