Mariah Shines On Billboard Charts

CAREY, DIAMOND SHINE: A Billboard 200 titan pads her top 10 total. Mariah Carey collects her 16th top 10, as "Merry Christmas II You" bows at No. 4. The set complements Carey's first holiday release, "Merry Christmas," which peaked at No. 3 in 1994. Carey first entered the top 10 the week of Aug. 4, 1990, when her eponymous debut rose 13-10 on its way to an 11-week reign beginning March 2, 1991. "Merry Christmas II You" arrives at No. 1 on Holiday Albums and R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. "Merry Christmas" peaked at Nos. 1 and 4 on the charts, respectively, in 1994. Mariah's Merry Christmas II You #1 debut makes her only the second artist in history to have a Holiday album top the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart! Mariah also rules the Holiday Digital Songs chart with an incredible nine songs in the chart's top 50.
