As "#Beautiful" bounds onto the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 24, Mariah Carey continues as one of the chart's most accomplished visitors dating to its Aug. 4, 1958, launch.
The lead single (featuring Miguel) from Carey's 13th studio album marks her 45th Hot 100 hit.
With "#Beautiful" bowing, Carey also claims her 35th top 40 Hot 100 hit, tying Island Def Jam labelmate Rihanna's total.
Carey continues to boast one of the most vaunted of all Hot 100 records: her 18 No. 1s are the most among solo acts (and second overall only to the Beatles' 20). With 54 million albums sold, Carey is also the best-selling female album artist since Nielsen SoundScan began tracking U.S. sales in 1991. She trails only overall leader Garth Brooks (68.6 million) and runners-up the Beatles (64.4 million).
Miguel, meanwhile, easily makes his best Hot 100 start with "#Beautiful." Of his prior seven charted titles, he'd debuted as high as No. 82 with his eventual No. 17-peaking "Adorn," still his highest-charted hit.
With a 39-7 catapult on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, "#Beautiful," featuring Miguel, becomes the 27th top 10 hit for Mariah Carey. The singer was previously tied with Whitney Houston for the fourth-most top 10s all-time for a female but now claims the position all to herself. Ahead of Carey on the list are Aretha Franklin (52 top 10s), Dinah Washington (35) and Janet Jackson (31). ("All-time" refers to the char's earliest incarnation, dating back to 1942.)
The last time Mariah visited the top tier was in 2008 when "Touch My Body" peaked at No. 2. By reaching the region in only two weeks, "#Beautiful" joins Justin Timberlake's "Suit & Tie," featuring Jay-Z, Lil Wayne's "Love Me," featuring Drake and Future, and Drake's "Started from the Bottom" as the fastest-rising songs of 2013 – all reaching the top 10 in their second week.
